Suburban Waste Services is a local, hometown garbage hauler owned and operated by Eden Prairie residents Paul & Katie Rosland along with partner Rick Sievers.
SWS provides residential waste removal services, including:
- weekly trash pickup
- weekly yard waste removal
- one-time bulk pickups
- no-sort recycling:
- Carver, Chanhassen, Chaska, Cologne, Eden Prairie, Prior Lake, Savage, Shakopee, Victoria and Waconia – pickup is every other week
- Edina, Minnetonka & Plymouth – recycling services are provided by city contracted vendors, not SWS

In May 2011, Suburban Waste Services was honored by the Small Business Administration (SBA) with their Small Business Excellence Award. This award recognizes businesses for their response to adversity, service to their community, growth, longevity and innovation of products and services. SWS was one of seven companies statewide to receive this honor. The award ceremony was very exciting for us. MN Secretary of State Mark Richie and representatives from our congressional and senate offices were also in attendance.
SWS was highlighted for our growth from two to ten trucks in 3 years and for adding 10 new jobs to the local economy. We were also recognized for providing outstanding service. We were nominated for this award by our wonderful bank, Venture Bank in Bloomington. Bank President Michael T. Zenk attended and VP & Commercial Loan Officer Dan McCarvel presented us with the award (shown left).
Starting a new business in this economy has not been easy, but with the support from our amazing customers and a great team we have been able to persevere.
