Ronald Dean Corron, 66, of North East, MD passed away on April 13, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was affectionately known as “Poppy” to his grandchildren.
Born in Clifton Forge, VA, he was the son of Richard Lee and Frances Lee (Osborne) Corron. He graduated from North East High School in 1969.
Ronald married his high school sweetheart Catherine Bowden on October 24, 1970. They were married for 46 years, 5 months and 19 days. She deserves a medal, but says he was the best thing that ever happened to her.
In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball, pitching horse shoes, camping, and coaching his son’s little league teams. Later in life he thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and tormenting his nieces and nephews.
Ronald owned and operated Corron’s Trash Removal for 43 years before retiring in July of 2016. Starting out the business working only on the weekends, it grew into a full-time operation employing six full time employees. He took great pride in the service he provided to Cecil County. He had previously worked at his father’s Gulf station in Elkton and for Firestone Plastics in Perryville.
Ronald is survived by his wife: Kathy; his son: Steve (Amy); his daughter: Cindy Wood (Dan); his grandchildren: Alex and Wyatt Wood; Brandt and Cate Corron; brothers: Gary (Rose), Larry (Darlene) and Bruce; sisters: Lynnette Brinton (Dave) and Lisa Ewing; uncle: Frank Corron (Connie); aunt: Linda Dietzal (Joseph); several nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:00 am.
